What's New With JetBlue - March 11

This Week With JetBlue...

This week, JetBlue adds new flights, cancels a partnership with another airline, and throws a curveball at a flight that until now Delta has had a monopoly on:

American Airlines, after its merger, has deemed the partnership with JetBlue as no longer necessary. Starting April 1st 2014, flyers will no longer be able to earn TrueBlue points through select NYC based flights on American Airlines. The deal was a great benefit to JetBlue customers, as they could earn miles for flights that JetBlue doesn't directly offer. No word on if a substitute partnership will take its place.

Partner points will no longer be available for
American Airlines after April 1, 2014.
JetBlue has begun to offer seats as low as $79 on non-stop flights from Detroit to Boston, putting some pressure on Delta who formerly had a tight drip on that route. Returning fire, Delta is matching JetBlue ticket prices for this, bringing theirs lower, but they are not budging on their fee-based baggage policies, making JetBlue a clear winner still.

The official sparkling wine of JetBlue, Segura Viudas, will now be served in flight. Joshua Wesson, the "low fare Sommelier" has chosen this because "This stylish cava from Spain is my go-to sparkling wine for parties. It’s the perfect fizz for making any occasion, including your flight, that much more special."

And starting June 19, 2014 JetBlue will be offering twice daily flights between Charleston and Washington DC as well as Hartford and DC. These flights are non-stop and a great addition to the east coast offerings JetBlue has been ramping up the past few years.

That's all for this week!
